After running a Shopify store that’s been earning over $10,000 a day, I realized that there were certain issues I was constantly dealing with. And it doesn’t matter if you’re doing $10,000+ per day at scale or $5,000; you probably will face these issues in some shape, way, or form.
I’ve compiled an entire list of the different issues that you should also be aware of to make the scaling process as seamless and easy as possible.
Ready to dive in? Let’s go!
eCommerce Secrets You Should Know When Using Shopify
We’ll start first by describing some issues you might be facing when trying to scale, then we’ll dive into some of our must-use tools and resources (eCommerce secrets for growing your business!).
Issue #1: Chargebacks
The number one issue high earning stores deal with is chargebacks. When you’re managing hundreds of orders every day, you’re bound to have some orders that get shipped out late or incorrectly. Late and incorrect orders lead to unhappy customers.
You want your chargebacks to be on point and handled, try to keep them under 1%. And I know, this isn’t always super easy to do.
But it’s also one of the most common issues you’ll face at this scale. You want to have the proper systems in place to ensure that these are kept at a minimum. Have too many and not only do you risk getting your payments to account fully suspended, but you also risk going into a complete loss with your business.
Keep in mind; that you simply cannot get rid of chargebacks completely. They’ll always be a part of the game. The best you can do is ensure they’re as low as possible and use a chargeback template for those that you do end up getting to win as many as possible.
Issue #2: Out of Stock Items
The second biggest issue with running a Shopify Store is items going out of stock. Trust me when I say this; you will face this issue at the most inconvenient time possible. Know how I came to this conclusion?
I faced it multiple times running my own eCommerce stores.
When you’re scaling a product, supplies can go out real fast. And when this happens, you need to have back ups in place to fulfill all those incoming orders. This should be done well in advance as well.
It’s never easy to refund all those extra orders which you simply could not fulfill due to stock shortages.
Issue #3: Tracking Profits Correctly
The number that drives your business forward. That keeps you and your family secure.
It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t love profits. But the biggest issue you will see when it comes to profits is lack of calculation.
Especially at such a scale.
Accounting for every single penny when focused on growing your eCommerce business is definitely hard but it needs to be done. Without proper calculations, you are simply throwing darts blindfolded.
Now at this stage, it’s near impossible to be doing the calculations manually. Fortunately, there are a ton of applications out there which assist with profit calculations. If you use Shopify to run your eCom store, you can find a whole list of them here.
